1950–1970 - NYC. High School of Music & Art and Boston University School of Fine Arts. 1971–1984 - Italy (Pistoia/Florence). 1978–1983 - Teatro di Ricerca Affettiva. During this period a number of important formative experiences with the work of August Boal, Jerzy Grotowski, Tedeuz Kantor, Steve Paxton, Simome Forti, Nicolas Cincone, Leo Bassi and others. 1984–to the present lives in Amsterdam. 1985–2001 interdisciplinary performance company Cloud Chamber. 2006–the present - Voices of the City Foundation dedicated to creating cultural manifestations to empower, inspire and bring people together. Including theater, dance, cabaret, circus, community art, movies and installations in which people and their stories are central. 2010–the present - CIRC/US, participatory storytelling based theatre combining the work of professionals and neighborhood people of all ages, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. The Storytelling Body / The Power Of Stories, evolving workshops and seminars facilitating creative personal growth and community building through exploration, development and transformation of personal and collective stories. Songlines, transformative, interactive, experiential learning journeys. Guided adventures for individuals and groups seeking to interact and exchange meaningfully with local cultural contexts in order to get and share inspiration, empowerment and celebration. CreativeConsciousCommunication (CCC), seminars, workshops and counseling inspired by Non Violent Communication and Mindfulness practice integrated with storytelling and self narration methodologies in order to facilitate processes of effective, compassionate and vibrant communication. LALA - Life Arts Learning Academy, a developing interdisciplinary creative center for learning and sharing a broad spectrum of life arts ranging from permaculture, naturopathy, nutrition, conscious body work/dance, theatre, storytelling, meditation and CCC. Ron Bunzl is an interdisciplinary theater-maker, video-artist and storyteller. His focus is the creation of performances based on stories of professionals and non-professional performers, and is as well engaged in coaching and mentoring both in individual sessions and group workshops. The performance work can be called cultural activism through theatre. The workshop and research projects focus on empowerment, self-realization, transformation, connection and healing. The activism takes on artistic, social, psychological and spiritual forms depending on the contexts and is always directed toward celebration and unfolding of human potential, creativity, wellbeing and freedom. |
